The Most Popular Sport in Every Country
HERE IS THE ONLY GRAPHIC YOU NEED TO SEE + read about the 19 year old world champ, a sport from 1862, a train that passes through a football stadium & much more.

Pre-match briefing
We’re cooking our website, please let us know what you’d like to see on there. Let’s get into week 20 of The Gameplan:
Scout’s Overview
📡 🚨 Weekly Sports Radar: Ski Jumping

Ski jumping is a winter sport where athletes launch off a ramp (the inrun) and soar through the air, aiming for the longest and most controlled flight before landing on a sloped hill.
Ski jumping originated in Norway in the early 19th century, with the first recorded competition held in 1862. It gained international recognition and became an Olympic sport in 1924. The winner is determined by a combination of jump distance and style points.
🏋 Athlete of the week: Alysa Liu

Alysa Liu is a former child prodigy in figure skating, winning back-to-back U.S. national titles in 2019 and 2020 before retiring in 2022 (when she was just 16!)
Fun fact: She began skating at age 5 and, at 13, became the youngest-ever U.S. women's national champion. This week, Alysa Liu came out of retirement to win the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships, the first US woman to do so in 19 years.
🏟️ Venue of the week: TJ Tatran Čierny Balog Football Stadium

Vladislav Píša
The TJ Tatran Čierny Balog Football Stadium has a train running through it. Yep. It is believed to be the only railway in the world to pass through the middle of a football stadium. Here’s how it happened:
The rail came first. Then, it was abandoned, and a football pitch was built nearby. Finally, thanks to some volunteers, the rail was renovated, but the pitch was already there, so they both kept functioning alongside each other.
🧤 Fit Check: All Blacks Training Jersey White/Blue Spark

We all know how successful the All blacks are in Rugby, but to be dropping training kits like these is insane. Other teams don’t even have home jerseys looking this good. This shirt has a distinctive quartered design, with the jersey paying tribute to the shirts worn by some of New Zealand's greatest legends.
From the bench
🗞️ In case you were injured:
Kirsty Coventry, one of Africa’s greatest Olympians, has become the International Olympic Committee’s first female president and the first African president in its 130-year history.
Domen Prevc broke the ski jumping world record, flying for 254.5 meters (watch it here)
The Chicago Bulls scored an insane three 3’s in the final 10 seconds of the game to beat the Lakers
🎯 In over-time:
A Norwegian football club awarded their man of the match with four trays of eggs
Jakub Menšík, a young tennis player, denied Novak Djokovic his 100th career title at the Miami Open on Sunday. What’s crazy is he was going to withdraw and only stopped because the referee was eating lunch
