Imagine Breaking Your Collarbone While Celebrating
Take a look at our 17th-century Dutch sport, the Nigerian sports philanthropist, the world’s most chaotic running track, a crazy kit from Ultimate Frisbee, and the family who's trying to cross the Atlantic in one small boat.

Pre-match briefing
Welcome back to The Gameplan! In case you missed it or need to bookmark it, your special pass to the all-sports list.
This week, we’re starting with appreciation for sports photography.
Sports photography is the art of capturing time itself. The split-second where grit meets grace, where an athlete’s years of training are frozen forever in a single frame. It demands precision, patience, a perfect eye for lighting, and a hunter’s instinct for the decisive moment.
…and then sometimes… You get this:

Beyond perfection. With that in mind, let’s sprint into Week 39 🏃 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ 💨
Scout’s Overview
📡 🚨 Weekly Sports Radar: Fierljeppen

Fierljeppen is a traditional Dutch sport where competitors sprint toward a long pole planted in a water canal, grab it, climb as high as possible while it tips forward, and then leap off to land on sand on the opposite bank.
The goal is to cover the greatest horizontal distance. It originated in the Netherlands, beginning as a practical way for farmers to cross waterways, then evolving into an official competitive event in the 20th Century.
🏋 Athlete of the week: Ejike Ugboaja

Ejike Ugboaja was the first player drafted to the NBA directly from Africa. Born in Nigeria, he was a draft pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and now he’s a sports philanthropist.
Since 2007, his Ejike Ugboaja Foundation has opened doors for hundreds of young Africans to earn scholarships and play basketball or football internationally, producing talents like NBA player Precious Achiuwa and NFL athletes Haggai Ndubuisi and Kenneth Odumegwu. This is what it’s all about.
🏟️ Venue of the week: The Athletics Exploratorium

The Athletics Exploratorium, located at the University of Southern Denmark, is unofficially dubbed the world’s most chaotic running track.

The track reimagines traditional athletics with spiral tracks, artificial hills, parkour elements, and outdoor strength areas, earning a gold medal for sports architecture in 2015.
🧤 Fit Check: Houston Havoc Light N-Knit

The Houston Havoc is a professional team that competes in the Ultimate Frisbee Association. This is the first time we are covering an ultimate frisbee kit, and we gotta be honest, this is a cleaaaaaan kit. It’s simple, yet the dollaro lime green colour adds a whole lot to it.
