Hello hello, lovely to have you back! We really appreciate you guys opening the newsletter each week. We hope we’re delivering as per your expectations. Our scouts and analysts have got plenty for you so dive right in (literally).

Scout’s Overview
📡 🚨 Weekly Sports Radar: Finswimming

Finswimming is an underwater racing sport where athletes use monofins or bi-fins to propel themselves with powerful leg kicks and streamlined body movements. Competitors navigate set distances underwater, surfacing only briefly when they have to. Some events allow breathing apparatus such as snorkels to aid performance.

The sport traces its origins to the 1960s when military and diving professionals developed it to enhance underwater speed and efficiency. It transformed into a competitive discipline, debuting in the first World Championships in 1976.

Athlete of the week: Marcos Alonso

Venue of the week: Henningsvaer Stadium

Marcos Alonso is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga.

Fun Fact: Alonso is a third-generation footballer. His grandfather, Marquitos, played for Real Madrid, and his father, Peña, played for Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. Even more impressive is the fact that all three have represented Spain internationally.

The picture speaks for itself. But I’ll still add some context. Henningsvær Stadion is an amateur football stadium in Norway.

Fun fact: A Women’s football team from San Diego, California visited this stadium to play a friendly match against the locals when the San Diego coach tagged the Henningsvær coach by mistake!

🧤 Fit Check: The Grinch (2021)

Peter Wright, aka "Snakebite," is the most colourful figure in darts, known for his surreal, vibrant jerseys and hairstyles (crafted by his wife).

He wore The Grinch (probably in the hopes of stealing Christmas) at the winter 2021 World Championships.
